There’s absolutely a new iPad mini on the way. The big question, though, is whether consumers are clamoring for it — especially at the $500 price point. With the small screen size, the iPad mini is up against rival products that cost a lot less. Apple’s objective is to position this device as a premium offering, which is why it uses the Pro version of its A-Series chips. That said, Apple fans used to have a cheaper alternative, the iPod touch. With that gone, the company might want to consider a lower-end version of the mini.
